Oh the memories. Did the same as you, and extended my Antigua stay for a 2+ week workation (timezone is neatly lining up with US).
It is an underrated country, I remember that after Tikal I ended up at ChichenItza and it just felt boring (and way too touristy) compared to the lush jungle beauty in Tikal and Yaxhá.

Yeah, Chichen Itza has its pleasure of being a comfortable but touristy place. Tikal is much better for travelers, though.
